What is Coaching and how is it different than therapy?

Life coaching tends to focus on helping you to self-actualize and reach your aspirations rather than responding to a medically diagnosed mental health condition.  Because of its non-medical nature, it is not reimbursable by your medical insurance; however, if your coaching services are tied to career-related stress, it may be considered a business expense for tax purposes.

Each coach is unique as their collection of skills, techniques, and experience is what they’re drawing from.  Though they may operate from a system or framework, coaching is unique from therapy in that you are asking for advice from a coach.  As each coach will have a unique style and niche that they tend to help with, it’s generally advisable to ask for a consultation call to make sure it’s the right fit.
