Personal biography

Getting to know Hannah Braun

Having worked with hundreds of clients as a mental health therapist, I have experience helping people to achieve success with managing stress, regulating emotions, improving relationships, and navigating change. I use a strengths-based approach, empowering clients to recognize their full potential and providing them with tools to make lasting changes in their lives.

Experienced in providing Gender Affirming Care, I’ve been trained in many evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I am motivated to assist clients with finding self-fulfillment and overall wellness; with a background in theatre, I believe that many aspects of life, including music, arts, and sports, can provide therapeutic benefits.

My goal is to provide a safe and comfortable space for clients to explore their challenges and reach their full potential.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Victor Frankl once said, “When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves”. I believe that we each have the potential for change!

At the start of therapy, we will work together to identify goals and create a plan for change like this. My goal is to assist clients with filling their “toolbox” with skills, techniques, and tricks to strengthen their ability to take control of their own lives and navigate any challenges as they arise.

I believe that the end goal of therapy is to no longer need therapy. It is my aim that by the end of our time together, clients feel empowered and capable of moving forward independently with the skills to cope with their emotions, manage stress, and navigate challenges.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I’m a therapist who provides her clients with validation, education, and practical skills from evidence-based modalities. I believe that therapy is the client’s personal time and I’m flexible to follow along with their needs and desires for the session:

I begin each session with a check-in, allowing clients the space to bring up any stressors or challenges that they would like. Sessions typically focus on reviewing skills that have been discussed in previous sessions, processing stressors and emotions, and introducing new skills. I like giving clients a goal, assignment, or idea to reflect on between sessions.

It is always very rewarding for me to see the progress that my clients make over time!

How does it work?

01
Evaluation

We meet for an hour to discuss what’s bringing you in and how I can help. We’ll outline a plan of action and schedule around implementing it. There is a free consultation before this if you’re unsure if this is the right fit for you.

02
Therapy

After the evaluation, we’ll decide how frequently to meet and work through a treatment plan that we make together to address the goals you have for treatment.

03
Maintenance

After achieving your goals with therapy, sessions may end or they can enter a maintenance form for touching base and more subtle course corrections if desired (usually conducted much less frequently).

04
Location

Currently, all of our appointments are being offered remotely via video calls.

05
Out of Pocket Cost

The upfront cost of 60-minute sessions is $150 if not covered by insurance. Payment is due at the time of service and receipts are provided for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

Reviews!

Hannah and I worked together for over a year, and my experience was incredible! Hannah gave me the time and space to express myself, to work through challenging ideas/presumptions, and to focus on mindful and intentional approaches to interactions with others. Working with Hannah has really built a foundation of emotional knowledge for me to continue working on myself and my relationships. I felt incredibly safe and respected while working with Hannah.
Hannah is a fantastic psychotherapist! She takes an empathetic and kind approach to your problems, listens actively, and helps you process things in a thoughtful manner. Hannah provides a judgment-free zone in which to work through issues and makes herself available for extra sessions if needed. I worked with Hannah for a full-year and can whole-heartedly say that I am much better off for it.

Thanks to Hannah, I feel much more grounded and able while handling several different parts of my life. Figuring out how to maneuver and balance the relationships both in professional and personal realms ain’t so easy. Yet I’ve learned that therapy can aim at small things, one thing at a time, which then pile up to make up the whole texture of your living, your life quality, your style of flow. Working with Hannah was the best decision I’ve made and the best gift that I’ve given to myself!
