Personal biography

Getting to know Sean Guinnane

Hi, I’m Sean. I’ve been working in psychiatric care for almost a decade, helping people manage anxiety, depression, OCD, and ADHD. My goal is to make this process feel as normal and comfortable as possible—no judgment, no pressure, just support.

I believe the relationship we build is just as important as the treatment itself. I’m not about cookie-cutter solutions or a mechanical approach. Instead, I focus on getting to know you, so we can figure out what works best for you together.

Whether you’re new to this or looking for a fresh perspective, I’m here to help you feel at ease and confident in your next steps.

What should a new client know about working with you?

When we work together, it’s all about collaboration. I’ll walk you through your options for medications and treatment, making sure you understand the “why” behind every decision. I want you to feel confident and informed about what you’re taking, without any of that holier-than-thou vibe you can sometimes experience at doctor’s offices.

I take a technical approach to prescribing, paying close attention to the details and tailoring everything to your specific needs. My focus isn’t just on avoiding the bad days—it’s about helping you feel your best and really win at feeling well.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Rather than trying to overcome the surface-level symptoms of what’s appearing, we’re going to come up with a neurological strategy for addressing what’s going on underneath the surface to help you achieve lasting change. I’m going to try to help you by weighing pro’s and con’s of several options so that you can make an informed decision on which strategy that YOU would like to try.

How does it work?

01

We meet for an hour to discuss what’s bringing you in and how I can help. We’ll outline a plan of action and schedule around implementing it. There is a free consultation before this if you’re unsure if this is the right fit for you.

02
Therapy

After the evaluation, we’ll decide how frequently to meet and work through a treatment plan that we make together to address the goals you have for treatment.

03
Maintenance

After achieving your goals with therapy, sessions may end or they can enter a maintenance form for touching base and more subtle course corrections if desired (usually conducted much less frequently)

Currently, all of our appointments are being offered remotely via video calls.

Reviews!

Sean is honestly one of the BEST! I have worked with many prescribers for my mental health and he is by far the best one I have worked with. He is easy going and I talked with him alot and vented. He was always listening and always gave his opinions when needed. He really understands medications and I never felt like medication was the only answer and that they were ever being pushed on me. When I first met with Sean he looked at all the medications I was being prescribed and he adjusted my medications to what we only felt I needed and I have never felt better. I am so grateful I had the opportunity to work with him!
Sean is a nice guy. He is empathetic and caring. I felt comfortable opening up to Sean and trusting him. He thoroughly explains how the medications would work and what to expect.
Sean has a very comprehensive understanding for medications and diagnoses. He was able to adapt and adjust my medications as needed based on the symptoms I was presenting as well as really took into account with how I was feeling. He always made sure I understood the medications and how they could help my symptoms. He was always quick to get back to me with any questions I had outside of our appointments. I really appreciate all the time he spent educating me and making me feel like I finally understand myself.
